Introduction for Handbook Testers
The handbook in its working version has been made available for your review for the purpose of discussion, submitting comments, and proposing changes and expansions to the content.
The idea behind the handbook is to gather knowledge derived from extrasensory perception into one coherent whole, in order to present as complete a picture as possible of multi-level reality. Then, to enable experiencing a “simulation” of participation in this reality from any point within it in the form of adventure and development through play.
The handbook can be read in two ways:
A. As a collection of authentic knowledge about the levels of reality, extraterrestrial civilizations, and other topics discovered through various methods of extrasensory perception.
B. As a handbook for a narrative (story-driven) RPG game. The idea behind its creation is, on one hand, to convey as complete a description as possible of complex multidimensional reality, and on the other hand, to enable simulating through play (RPG) an immersion into the gradual discovery of the nuances of this complex reality.
In the table of contents, completed chapters are marked in color. However, they may still undergo further changes and updates based on your comments.
Chapters marked in black have not yet been added in the current version of the document. Additionally, further chapters may be created that are not yet noted even as part of the planned table of contents.
The handbook will also contain illustrations, which are not yet included. Its publication in hardcover print format is also planned.
The task of testers is to evaluate the coherence of the content and its consistency with the known state of knowledge.
Testers should focus on evaluating the part describing reality (the world, cosmic races, etc.). The part of the handbook presenting gameplay mechanics is not currently the main subject of evaluation and discussion – it will be tested separately after refining the part describing reality, and in its current form represents a section that will likely undergo significant evolution.
Proposals for additional content that you would like to see in the handbook are welcome.
It is also worthwhile to submit comments regarding the readability and comprehensibility of the text.
The author’s current particular dilemma is how to signal the value of rising above dualism and conflict in situations where combat is normally expected in games and constitutes an attractive part of gameplay (see: spaceship battles). This aspect should be particularly discussed in the context of the balance between attractiveness and interaction during play versus the educational value of constructive guidance. I am open to your ideas and reflections.
