Contact with Superconsciousness is the ability to receive ideas, intuitive knowledge, and to perceive reality from a broader perspective.

Imagine people on the streets of a crowded city rushing about like ants in a maze.
Each of us walking down a street sees only what is immediately nearby – and symbolically speaking, we move through life as if in a maze, without a broader perspective.
Entering the level of Superconsciousness is like finding yourself on the roof of a skyscraper, from which the view is far better and wider, and you can see so much more.
Superconsciousness is the source of ideas, creativity, and wisdom to which you can have conscious access.

The concept of “superconsciousness” appears frequently in the literature of spiritual development and esoteric studies. It is also referred to as “superconscious mind,” “higher self,” “spiritual self,” and similar terms.
More psychologically oriented personal development literature occasionally invokes this concept as well. However, psychology – due to the associations that superconsciousness carries with ideas of spirituality (and, for some, with the concept of divinity appropriated by religion) – tends to use it more cautiously, usually adhering to more materialistic interpretations of reality.

Superconsciousness is a powerful structure of the self, the understanding of which allows one to empirically experience what many ancient spiritual systems around the world speak of. Enlightenment, illumination, revelation – these are all hallmark qualities of a personal encounter with Superconsciousness.

For the Western mind, the idea of Superconsciousness as a free, unconstrained power beyond everyday human consciousness can be so uncomfortable that it is sometimes – quite unjustifiably – dismissed entirely. To such people, Superconsciousness appears as something that cannot be directly controlled or subordinated to their will – which is precisely what many Western philosophies, especially in the motivational sphere, strive to achieve.

Such an interpretation of Superconsciousness stands in opposition to the widely accepted concept of the subconscious, whose very name suggests something destined to be tamed and mastered – something over which a person could potentially exert dominance.

Both of these conceptions are mistaken, and they most often arise from the associations carried by the prefixes “super” and “sub” in relation to consciousness.
In a mind accustomed to hierarchical ranking, the idea of superconsciousness naturally becomes associated with what is meant to rule over consciousness, while the idea of subconsciousness becomes associated with what consciousness is meant to rule over.
However, that is not how it works. This model – rather than harmonizing and attuning the potential of all three spheres of the self, which in a person’s life play mutually complementary roles – distorts that picture through its hierarchical associations.

So What Is Superconsciousness Really?

Superconsciousness is that part of the mind that lies beyond the conscious mind – the part responsible for higher ideas, the creative impulses that arise in awareness, and having access to the potential of infinity.

The concept of Superconsciousness tells us, in general terms, that it exists “above” the conscious mind and therefore holds a higher perspective. In many religions and spiritual systems – especially ancient ones – superconsciousness is the part associated with divine enlightenment, divine knowledge, the potential of the human spiritual nature, our soul, and, broadly, with that which human consciousness continually aspires toward as it seeks contact with its divine aspect.

Superconsciousness is infinite potential.
The nature of Superconsciousness is to experience through incarnated consciousness – but from an entirely different meta-level of one’s own perception.
Superconsciousness is connected to the Source – the infinite creative potential of the universe – which makes it, in itself, a wellspring of ideas, insights, and moments of brilliant illumination for the human being. This is what allows a solution or idea to suddenly arise in our minds that does not originate from our deductive process – appearing unexpectedly and astonishing us with its brilliance.

Superconsciousness has no preferences in the sense of priorities and desires that the conscious mind possesses. It is, instead, a perfect version of ourselves from the future.
Its nature is the desire for growth, for the expansion of the human mind – a process in which it participates throughout an entire lifetime.
We call this the development of consciousness, and it unfolds not only through experience itself, but also through the emergence of openness and readiness to receive higher ideas originating from Superconsciousness. These ideas, passing through consciousness, can be integrated into life – which makes a human being something more than merely a more intelligent animal.
Superconsciousness is the part that fills us with the spiritual element and with aspirations toward something more than merely satisfying basic material needs.
One might say that Superconsciousness is precisely that part which is responsible for the divine element within us – the divine spark that inspires us to grow and to discover higher spiritual values.

Superconsciousness in practice is that part whose exploration – and the ability to establish conscious contact with it – can significantly expand your possibilities in life.
It is through Superconsciousness that the most famous geniuses received their revelations and made breakthrough discoveries, suddenly experiencing illumination – whether awake or in sleep.
It is Superconsciousness that is responsible for intuitive perception and the ability to make good decisions: decisions that prove correct not only in the immediate moment, but above all bring long-term, positive, and often unexpected benefits.
Superconsciousness is therefore our most precious inner resource – our ideal, essential version of ourselves, free of earthly limitations and negative thoughts, and which always represents the very best of what we are.
